I met Faye a couple of years after my divorce was finalized.  My ex-husband was refusing to do almost everything that he had agreed to in our divorce agreement.  Although I went to her for unpaid child support, college expenses, and medical expenses, she directed me towards other parts of the agreement which were also in need of attention. Over the past few months, we have noticed some cognitive issues with my mom. Things have gotten rapidly worse and she will be moving into a nursing home with dementia care within the next week or so. 10 years ago, she dragged me to an estate lawyer and set up a Health Care Proxy, Durable Power of Attorney, and sold me her house. Please do this for your kids or ask your parents to do this for you. This was truly a gift to me. I can’t imagine how hard this would be without all of this in place.
